Privacy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

This policy covers smartcw.app and the SmartCW keyer itself. Both are short: neither has anything to collect.

Who we are

SmartCW is made by RF.Guru (rf.guru). RF.Guru™ is a registered trademark of Dielectricum. Questions about this policy: info@rf.guru.

This website

smartcw.app has no accounts, no forms, no analytics, no advertising and no cookies. It doesn't load third-party scripts or fonts. The Morse player on the home page runs in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.

Like any web server, the hosting platform (Google Cloud Run) keeps short-lived request logs — IP address, time, the page requested and your browser's user agent — to operate and protect the service. We don't use them to identify or profile visitors.

To show the latest firmware, the site's server — not your browser — asks GitHub which release is newest. The Download button sends your browser to GitHub, which serves the file under its own privacy statement. Order buttons lead to the RF.Guru shop, which has its own policy.

The keyer

SmartCW has no account, no telemetry and no connection to the internet. It talks only to the computer it is plugged into, over its USB cable: a serial port, MIDI, a keyboard, a drive and a small network between the two of you, on which it hands out no gateway, so it could not reach further if it tried.

Your settings, callsign, name and memories live in config.txt on SmartCW itself. The trainer keeps your progress in your own browser's storage, on your computer; export it or clear it as you like. Nothing of either is ever sent to us.

The web page and the TCP port have no login: anything on that USB link can use them, which is your own computer. All of it is readable in the source.
